Missouri Avenue Tel: 605/773-3421 Web: www.state.sd.us/drr/reg/bank Roger Novotny assumed the duties of South Dakota Banking Division Director in the Department of Revenue and Regulation, effective February 15, 2004 He was appointed by Governor Mike Rounds on December 19. Novotny joins South Dakota's Department of Revenue and Regulation after serving as senior vice president and chief operating 0fficer of Aman Collection Service in Aberdeen. His responsibilities included managing all operational, finance, technological and strategic work groups as well as leading a workforce of more than 300 people. From 1998 to 2001, he served Aman as vice president of contract collections. Prior to joining Aman Collection Service in 1995 as government relations manager, Novotny served in various management positions within the South Dakota Department of Revenue. He served as the division director in the motor fuel tax division from 1972 to 1976, director of the sales tax division from 1976 to 1993, and director of the business tax division from 1993 to 1995. He succeeded Richard Duncan, who retired in June 2003, as banking director. Catherine M. Brandner has served as interim director from June 2003 to February 2004.
