AEO is seeking a creative, energetic and highly motivated individual to advance its work in Policy Advocacy and Applied Research.* The Policy and Research Analyst will work cooperatively with the Policy and Research Manager to influence federal policies that impact microentrepreneurs and the programs from which they receive financial and business development services as well as to produce and disseminate research on the microenterprise field to AEO’s members.

AEO members include a broad range of microenterprise development programs as well as many other organizations that support AEO’s mission, such as financial institutions, community economic development organizations and community-based organizations serving low-income communities across the nation. * Qualifications: 1-4 years experience in either microenterprise development, community economic development, or policy and research.* The successful candidate will be skilled in consensus-based decision-making, will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and will be a self-starter who can work with minimum supervision.* Strong writing ability and attention to detail is very important.* Candidate should be computer proficient, particularly in word and data processing.* At minimum, the individual should have a college degree; a masters degree in an appropriate field is a plus.* Dedication to improving the lives of low- and moderate-income entrepreneurs is a must.
