Sam's Club launched an e-voting campaign among its members to determine
who among 4 not-for-profits focused on entrepreneurship

would receive $1 Million. They will give away $4 Million in total;
there are other categories.

ACCION USA and the ACCION organizations across the US are all working to
secure the award. It will enable us to serve

tens of thousands of small business owners over the next two years.



We've been working it for weeks, sent out the message below and watch
the vote count daily.



My question is: is this a new form of activism we can truly leverage to
advance the work we do in low-to-moderate income communities?

With 40 Million members eligible to vote, the biggest bang might simply
be the greater awareness our brand will garner among Sam's Club members
50% of whom are small business owners. (We certainly can't buy that
level of visibility) But the effort is

enormous and I wonder if we will cause more dollars to flow to
not-for-profits by participating or simply find ourselves competing for
fewer dollars in hand to hand combat.
