Position: Deputy Executive Director
Organization: National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions

NFCDCU helps low-income and minority communities establish and operate
nonprofit financial institutions. Founded in 1974, we are headquartered in
New York City, with a staff of 20. We provide capital, management support,
training and education, and other programs for 200 member credit unions
nationwide. A 501(c)(3) organization, we are also a certified Community
Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and a recognized leader in the CDFI
movement.

We are seeking an experienced, multi-skilled professional to serve as
second-in-command. The Deputy Executive Director (DED) works closely with
the Executive Director to raise grants, supervise programs, and advocate
with policymakers.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to our mission of
empowering low-income and minority communities. She/he will have:

* B.A../B.S. (required); advanced degrees and/or professional training
preferred
* 10 years management experience in one or more of the following fields:
credit unions, banking, finance, community development, trade associations,
other nonprofit organizations
* Demonstrated success in program management, fundraising, advocacy,
financial management, and/or training
* Ability to work effectively with elected board of directors
* Excellent writing and presentation skills
* Knowledge of and commitment to the nonprofit sector

A high level of energy and enthusiasm, flexibility, the ability to
communicate effectively to a variety of audiences, and the capacity to
multi-task under deadline are essential. Some national travel is required.

Deadline: August 31, 2001 or until filled.
