On March 21, Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) and Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) began circulating a letter (http://www.cdfi.org/Uploader/Files/CDFIfy07dc.pdf) of support requesting at least an $80 million appropriation to the CDFI Fund in FY 2007.* The letter is addressed to Senator Bond (R-MO) and Senator Murray (D-WA), Chairman and Ranking Member respectively of the Senate Transportation, Treasury, the Judiciary and Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee with jurisdiction over the CDFI Fund.* The CDFI Coalition is encouraging all United States Senators to sign the letter supporting the continuation of CDFI Fund grant programs.* As of April 13, 35 Senators had committed to sign the letter (see this list of signatures (http://www.cdfi.org/Uploader/Files/signatures2006.doc) to see if your Senator has signed).* Please urge your Senators to sign the letter of support if they haven’t already done so—click here (http://capwiz.com/cdfi/issues/alert/?alertid=8615131) to urge your state delegation to support the CDFI Fund.
