I get many comments about the volume of email generated by the
communitydevelopmentbanking list. I moderate the list by editing out postings that are not appropriate or not of general CDB interest. Here is my "rule of thumb" list, which I regularly refine in order to guide my editing. Comments appreciated. CD Banking Discussion - Unlimited Trade Associations - One posting a month Newsletters - Once a quarter CDFI Local updates - Annual Conference - One Notice Publications - One Notice Job Listings - One Notice Political campaigning - Never Non CD Banking Topics - Never ===---===---===---===---===<<<>>>===---===---===---===---=== Here is a short analysis of the Country-Code Top-Level Domains of 2340+ subscribers to the CDB list. 892 COM 761 ORG 216 NET 184 EDU 126 GOV 44 US 40 CA 18 UK 14 CO 13 COOP 9 JP 6 FR AC NE 5 IE IN 4 VA NZ BE PK 3 FI DE MX AU 2 LK VN IT AZ SC ES MT ID PG NL 1 BIZ BR CC CL EE IL SE LT MA ML MZ AF NG NO NP PA PL PT ZM http://www.iana.org/cctld/cctld-whois.htm ===---===---===---===---===<<<>>>===---===---===---===---=== Some friendly reminders to help keep communitydevelopmentbanking Listserve working effectively: Do post items of interest to the community development banking community. Do include your name, organization, address, email, web page, etc at the end of your message. Do share your knowledge, resources and opinion. Do post notices of conferences, job openings, legislative initiatives, and publications. Do use the Subject line. Do keep messages as brief as possible. Do invite your peers and co-workers to subscribe to the list. Do save the unsubscribe instructions. Don't use attachments, formatting, colors, images, HTML encoding. This serves three purposes: - keeps message size smaller - allows all subscribers to read the message - helps reduce the incidence of viruses. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> LIST COMMAND REVIEW You can limit your email from the list to one digest a day by setting the digest option.
