CNFA (Citizens Network for Foreign Affairs, Inc.) is seeking expressions of interest from Agriculture and Environment Specialists with experience in Latin America interested in participating in a bid for a project to improve management and conservation of natural resources. Activities will focus on improving economic conditions and local control over natural resources in key areas through improved watershed management; natural resource conservation; competitiveness program assistance; improved market-producer links; and business development services for agriculture, environmental and other rural enterprise ventures.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

<![if !supportLists]>A.**** <![endif]>Good track record of successful collaboration with high-level host-country government officials, NGOs, and private sector;
<![if !supportLists]>B.**** <![endif]>Excellent cross-cultural communication and relationship building skills;
<![if !supportLists]>C.**** <![endif]>Minimum 5 years of post advanced degree Latin American field work, Mexico preferred;
<![if !supportLists]>D.**** <![endif]>Previous experience working with USAID preferred; and
<![if !supportLists]>E.***** <![endif]>Excellent (S-4/R-4) English and Spanish language capability.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

<![if !supportLists]>A.**** <![endif]>Advanced degree (minimum masters, Ph.D. preferred) in agricultural economics, development economics, finance, marketing or similar field;
<![if !supportLists]>B.**** <![endif]>Experience with agribusiness development and financing issues, market analysis and strategic business planning;
<![if !supportLists]>C.**** <![endif]>5-10 years experience analyzing, developing, and expanding market opportunities for agricultural and agroforestry-based products and industries including conducting market analyses and developing market strategies, labeling and packaging requirements, certification requirements and standards;
<![if !supportLists]>D.**** <![endif]>Experience working with a wide range of rural stakeholders in the design and implementation of business around sustainable crops and other products; and
<![if !supportLists]>E.***** <![endif]>Good firsthand knowledge of Mexican economic, political, social, and cultural characteristics and of the history of environment assistance activities in Mexico.

LONG-TERM PERSONNEL POSITIONS:

Fluency in Spanish and familiarity with/work experience in Mexico are required for all long-term positions.

  8. Non-agricultural natural resource based industries (including eco-tourism)
  9. Forestry and agro-forestry, forest inventory, timber conservation
  10. Policy reform and analysis at the national, regional, and local levels
  11. Drafting of laws, institutional capacity building, training, education, and facilitation
