I am a graduate student at Cornell looking for materials on rural banking
(published or non-published). Specifically, I am looking for information regarding the impact of the CRA on rural banking, the impact of locally-owned rural financial institutions on rural communities, and partnerships between rural financial institutions and non-banks that offer lending assistance. If you are particularly familiar with these topics, or have access to information which may be of use to me, please let me know. Thank you, Hallie Salem This post transferred from the cdb-l mailing list |

Hi. In 1998, the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) presented a paper called
"Best Practices in Rural Development" which identified programs and initiatives designed to provide capital and credit in rural areas. It discusses both housing and economic issues. There is a Rural Development Directory at the end. I would be happy to send you a copy.
