Default Job Opening - Senior Loan Officer in Denver, Colorado

The Mile High Housing Fund is an $8 million revolving loan fund serving
affordable housing developers in the Denver metro area. We are looking for
a Senior Loan Officer to manage our loan portfolio and to help grow our
organization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Executive Director to meet lending goals and maintain
primary responsibility for managing the loan portfolio
- Review loan applications and financial data from prospective borrowers
- Present loan recommendations to the Loan Committee for approval
- Close and document loans in consultation with legal counsel
- Maintain accurate and complete files on all loans underwritten and
approved
- Develop professional relationships with current and potential borrowers to
ensure a clear understanding of the role, resources, and requirements of
MHHF
- Monitor loan portfolio, communicating directly with borrowers as
appropriate
- Implement new loan software program to track loans
- Prepare analyses and reports on the loan portfolio performance
- Provide assistance as necessary to help potential borrowers successfully
qualify for MHHF financing; help applicants locate other funding sources if
MHHF is not a good fit
- Market MHHF?s loan products to potential borrowers and referral sources
- Manage loan workouts when necessary
- Participate in training, technical assistance and organizational capacity
building efforts
- Other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will bring the following professional background and
experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant
field such as finance, business administration, economics or community
development
- Three to five years of experience in affordable housing lending or other
real estate lending
- Thorough understanding of basic principals of accounting, finance and
financial analysis
- An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work with a minimum of
hands-on supervision
- Ability to complete tasks in a highly time-sensitive environment
- Strong communication skills, both spoken and written
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; high level of attention to
detail
- Ability to work with a variety of people and organizations
- Computer literacy in Microsoft word processing, spreadsheet and data base
programs
