Specific responsibilities include the following: Â* Site Search & Evaluation §Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Lead real estate site search activities to identify site opportunities: canvass geographic catchment area, conduct outreach, liaise with brokerage community, research and vet site opportunities, contact site owners §Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Conduct preliminary site due diligence including architectural, environmental, and economic feasibility §Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Maintain database of site opportunities Â* Project Pipeline §Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Market Civic’s mission and services to prospective charter school partners §Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Lead due diligence efforts to evaluate potential partner charter schools §Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Maintain database to track all charter schools (applicants/charters/operators/renewals) in Civic’s geographic markets and identify prospective projects Â* Project Development & Client Management §Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Manage and evaluate information from schools (academics, financials, organizational data) and monitor school performance §Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Collaborate with Business Development Directors and Real Estate Project Managers to: oÂ*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Secure site control: prepare and make offers, draft and negotiate sale or lease agreements with property owners oÂ*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Structure and manage business relationship with charter partners; negotiate and execute contracts including development and lease agreements oÂ*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Assess project feasibility and conduct project underwriting oÂ*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Secure and close project-level financing Â* Miscellaneous §Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Prepare internal and external presentations §Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â* Support internal and external reporting requirements * Additional special projects or tasks as necessary Â* A successful candidate for this position will have a proven ability to multi-task, take initiative, and work collaboratively with a team. College degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
