About the Position:
Calvert Foundation is currently seeking an Underwriter to evaluate the financial condition of borrowers and prepare due diligence reviews for our loan portfolio, which includes non-profit CDFIs, Affordable Housing Developers and Loan Funds, International Micro-Finance Institutions, and Social Enterprises.

Proposed Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepares due diligence reviews of borrowers in the Calvert Foundation portfolio.
  • Analyzes financial condition, operations and management of community development organizations.
  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of financial spreads.
  • Manages follow-up with borrowers related to due diligence reviews.
  • Works with Investment Officers to present due diligence reviews and loan requests for approval by internal and external Investment Committees.

Qualification, Skills and Required Experience:
<![if !supportLists]>·********************* <![endif]>Advanced degree in business, accounting and or finance; or equivalent experience
<![if !supportLists]>·********************* <![endif]>Significant experience in credit analysis and underwriting in a commercial or banking context
<![if !supportLists]>·********************* <![endif]>At least 3-5 years experience in credit analysis of CDFIs or MFIs
<![if !supportLists]>·********************* <![endif]>Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access Database software
<![if !supportLists]>·********************* <![endif]>Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize competing demands.
