(Pardon me for multiple posting.)
I am undertaking a research project at Women's World Banking on non-financial business development programs for micro and small businesses. We are interested to identify factors contributing to the success of non-financial programs and services from cases around the world. Would anyone who knows not-well-known but innovative programs/services be kind to give me leads? Categories of programs and services to be considered in this three-month research include: technology transfer, general business training, sub-sector specific initiative, commercial services, individual mentoring/counseling, to give a few examples. Our focus is the bottom half population in the developing countries, but relevant cases from the developed world are also welcome. Please direct your email to: hk31@columbia.edu or wwb@igc.apc.org (please write "mail to Hideki" under "Subject") Thank you. They offer a 12 week course in personal life assessment and business planning. It's a mobile training course in that it moves into a different county for each 12 week cycle. Please contact Jeannie Brewer, Executive Director, WINGS, 433 Chestnut Street, Berea, Ky. 40403 or call (606) 986-2373 or fax (606)986-1299. This post transferred from the cdb-l mailing list |

You should contact MS Foundation in New York. They have coordinated a
national initiative on microenterprise for low-income women. Will have lots of contacts. Best of luck. Betsy Taylor This post transferred from the cdb-l mailing list |
