The US Congress is poised to vote on an omnibus funding bill for Fiscal Year (FY) 2003 later today or tomorrow.* $75 million for the CDFI Fund for the fiscal year already 4 months underway (FY 2003) is included in this legislation.
This funding level represents a compromise between the House committee-passed level of $80 million and the Senate committee-passed level of $73 million.* The FY 2003 funding level of $75 million is a $5 million drop from the FY 2002 funding level of $80 million.
The CDFI Coalition is urging Congress to restore funding to the CDFI Fund to at least $80 million in Fiscal Year 2004.* Please visit our website www.cdfi.org (http://www.cdfi.org) to learn more and TAKE ACTION to tell your Senators and Representative about the importance of the CDFI Fund to low-wealth communities.*
