Position Open: Program Associate
Location: New York City

The Federation is a 37-year-old nonprofit specializing in bringing financial services to low-income communities through community development credit unions (CDCUs) – nonprofit, member-owned financial institutions. We are based in New York City, with a nationwide membership of more than 230 credit unions in 46 states. The Federation provides our members with financial, technical, and educational services. Among our many innovative programs are faith-based, Latino, disability, and youth initiatives. We are an established Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and have long been a leader in the CDFI movement nationally and statewide
We are seeking a program associate to work on existing programs and new initiatives that support our member CDCUS and the communities they serve, in the areas of education and training, financial product development, and advocacy. You will work on diverse projects that include a major new national initiative to provide financial products and services to low-income older adults; the CDCU Institute™ which is the premier professional development program for credit unions serving low- and moderate-income communities; the Disability Outreach program and the New York Coalition of Community Development Financial Institutions. As part of the Federation team, you will also have the opportunity to work on other, varied assignments including our upcoming Annual Meeting in California.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Reports to the Director of Education and Training and Senior Program Officer on a current portfolio of economic development and educational programs that support community development credit unions in serving their membership
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manages day-to-day program responsibilities and relationships with participating CDCUs, including, but not limited to field visits; data collection and reporting; marketing and outreach; partner relationships and development of educational and training materials. Contributes to the strategic development of these programs.
· Supports staff in establishing monitoring and evaluation framework for their programs including, but not limited to, establishing baseline studies, effective benchmarks, outcomes and measurement tools.
· Supports staff in identifying and integrating best practices and lessons learned to be shared with the regional networks and internal program team.
· Responsible for soliciting and receiving partner reports, ensuring transparent recordkeeping and accountability.
· Identifies new programmatic opportunities in collaboration with program team
· Works with team on marketing and promotion of programs
· Coordinates with staff on fundraising including, but not limited to, supporting proposal writing teams, reviewing drafts, ensuring accuracy of information, and reporting to donors. Creates, edits and collates narrative reports, and narratives from projects.

Requirements:
· B.A. / B.S. required; additional training or education desirable
· Two years minimum work experience
· Excellent writing, analytic, verbal and interpersonal skills with strong customer-service orientation
· Knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, database applications, presentation software, etc.
· Knowledge of credit unions and/or community organizations a plus
