Description:
Union Settlement Association, established in 1895, is one of the largest
social services agencies in East Harlem. The agency provides childcare,
after-school programs, youth development, college preparation, adult
education (including ESL and GED), programs for the elderly, mental health
services, and more. Union Settlement has over 400 dedicated full-time and
part-time employees who work from 18 different sites to serve over 13,000
local residents each year. In addition, two related entities - Union
Settlement Home Care Services and Union Settlement Federal Credit Union -

Position: Chief Executive Officer - Union Settlement Federal Credit Union
Reports to: Union Settlement Federal Credit Union (USFCU) Board of Directors
Hours: Full-time
Duties:
Position Summary:
The CEO will manage a dynamic growth-oriented, not-for-profit community
development financial institution, providing access to capital and
affordable financial services in the East Harlem community. The CEO must be
a self-directed individual with strong management skills, financial
institution experience, and the ability to implement the institution's
ambitious vision and goals.
Responsibilities include:
. Prepare financial projections and detailed budget.
. Prepare monthly financial reports to the Board of Directors, and quarterly
and semi-annual financial reports to regulators.
. Prepare financial and operational trend analysis for Board of Directors.
. Update policies and procedures for compliance with National Credit Union
Administration (NCUA) regulations.
. Interact with NCUA examiner, EDS, Supervisor of examiners, and regional
directors (as needed).
. Ensure compliance with NCUA and USFCU policies.
. Represent Credit Union in the East Harlem community.
. Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
. Research and develop new products and services.
. Promote new products and services among existing and potential members.
. Participate in goal setting with credit union board of directors.
. Ensure smooth implementation of board vision and direction.
. Develop policies with the board and CFO.
. Additional duties as assigned by Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
The ideal Chief Executive Officer candidate will have the following
qualifications:
. Master's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance
preferred.
. Minimum of 7 years demonstrated management experience in a financial
institution.
. Demonstrated credit union experience preferred.
. Demonstrated lending experience preferred.
. Excellent leadership and management skills.
. Commitment to a community development mission.
. Excellent supervisory skills and an ability to implement the institution's
ambitious vision and goals.
. Self-starter and entrepreneurial nature.
. Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks at the same time.
. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
. Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
. Superior management abilities.
. Unquestioned personal and professional integrity.
. Innovative and analytic problem-solving abilities.
. A dedicated work ethic.
. A strong desire to help improve the lives of the residents of the local
East Harlem community.
