JOB SUMMARY:

difference. The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) is the federal
agency that charters and supervises federal credit unions and insures
savings in federal and most state-chartered credit unions across the country
through the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), a federal
fund backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government.

This is a field position assigned to the Office of Small Credit Union
Initiatives (OSCUI) of the National Credit Union Administration. The
incumbent will provide expertise and assistance in the implementation of
policy and to provide coordination between the government and the
private/public interests required to deal with the problems which are unique
to the Agency's chartering program.





KEY REQUIREMENTS:

* You must be a U. S. Citizen.
* Relocation Expenses will be paid by the agency for NCUA Employees
Only.
* Position requires travel over 55% of the time.
* Federal salaries must be direct deposited into a financial
institution.

As a Credit Union Examiner (Economic Development Specialist), you will
assist small and low-income designated credit unions with strategic issues
such as developing new products and services, marketing plans, strategic and
business plans, field of membership expansions, financial assistance, and
succession planning. You will assist small and low-income designated credit
unions with operational issues such as budgeting, internal controls, policy
development, regulatory compliance, recordkeeping, and staff training. You
will provide assistance to newly-chartered credit unions, as well as groups
interested in starting a new credit union. You will develop and conduct
training for field supervisory staff, examiner staff, credit union
officials, and outside organizations on topics critical to the long-term
viability of small and low-income designated credit unions.
