Organization & Program Background Information
Opportunity Fund is a not-for-profit financial institution that advances the economic well-being of working people by helping them earn, save and invest in their future. We provide financial products, services and training which our customers use to transform their own lives and to better their communities. With a staff of ~35 people and an annual operating budget of ~ $5 million, Opportunity Fund has award-winning programs that have a 15+ year track record of helping thousands of clients and directing over $150 million into low-income communities in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Opportunity Fund's IDA Program is among the nation's oldest and largest, serving over 3,200 individuals since 1999 with financial education and matched savings accounts. Each year, the IDA Savings Team supports over 800 low-income working people who are saving for post-secondary education, U.S. Citizenship, microenterprise development, emergency savings, homeownership and other goals. Start2Save is a new project designed to help working people and families save for the first time to open an emergency savings account - this innovative matched savings initiative that will be the first of its kind in the country.

IDA Program Manager

* Key responsibilities: Lead the IDA program to achieve annual program goals and objectives, including new account enrollment, successful case and account management, evaluation, process improvement, and new product implementation. These responsibilities include leading and managing program operations, team supervision and strategic direction for the IDA Savings Program.

* Key qualifications: 3+ years experience in financial services and/or social services with demonstrated success meeting or exceeding clearly stated goals, 2+ years project management experience, 2+ years supervising, leading and motivating a diverse team.

Start2Save Coordinator

* Key responsibilities: Responsible all elements of the Start2Save (emergency savings) project, including handling outreach, partnerships and orientations in order to enroll new savers; providing comprehensive, proactive case management to savers over their two-year saving period; and collaborating with team members on evaluation and feedback loop to funders and other external stakeholders. The Start2Save Coordinator will have the opportunity to launch the implementation of this innovative matched savings initiative that will be the first of its kind in the country.

* Key qualifications: 3+ years experience providing direct client service to a low-income population, preferably as a counselor, case manager or coach, 1+ year experience public speaking, outreach and client recruitment, and/or working in partnership with other organizations to achieve a common goal.
