Help lead the charge to return more than $8 million to DC's hard-working
families!
Capital Area Asset Builders (CAAB) <http://www.caab.org/> ('http://www.caab.org/>') , a nonprofit
organization founded in 1997 to help low- to moderate-income individuals
improve their financial management skills, increase their savings, and
build wealth, is hiring a full-time staff member to manage the DC Earned
Income Tax Credit (DC EITC) Campaign <http://www.dceitc.org/> ('http://www.dceitc.org/>') . The DC
EITC Campaign is a region-wide initiative that provides free tax
preparation services for low-income tax filers and creates opportunities
for them to use their refunds to increase their long-term financial
security.
During the 2010 filing season, 500 volunteers prepared tax returns for
more than 5,000 low-income taxpayers at 12 DC EITC Campaign tax sites in
DC, Maryland, and Virginia, claiming over $8 million in refunds for
hard-working families and individuals. Campaign volunteers also helped
clients take advantage of financial education programs, open bank
accounts, and use their refunds to achieve long-term financial goals.
The DC EITC Campaign Manager & Outreach Coordinator will oversee CAAB's
role in the Campaign, including community outreach, asset building, and
volunteer coordination. The Campaign Manager will also work closely
with Community Tax Aid (CTA), CAAB's primary partner in the Campaign,
which oversees volunteer tax preparation training and tax site
operations.
