Dear Colleagues,
Treasury's Office of Consumer Protection is planning to hire a Research Analyst, and I am writing to ask for your assistance in spreading the word to anyone within or outside of the federal government who you think might be interested in and qualified for this position. We expect that the position will be posted on USA Jobs the week of July 12, and it will be open for approximately 10 days.
The Research Analyst will assist with research and analysis related to the development and implementation of consumer protection policy in the financial service marketplace. This includes a wide range of consumer financial services, including mortgages, credit cards, payday or other consumer loans, bank overdraft lending, debt collection, and credit reporting. One of the priority tasks of the Office of Consumer Protection is providing policy input and recommendations in connection the proposal in the pending Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act to create a new Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection.
Applicants should have at least two to three years of relevant work experience and a bachelor's degree.
