Northern Initiatives (NI) is a premier non profit Community
Development Financial Institution headquartered in Marquette and
serving rural Michigan.* Initiated as a joint partnership between
Northern Michigan University and Shorebank Corporation - one of the
nation's leading Community Development banks, NI has an $8.0 million
loan fund, and has been providing small business loans since 1994.
Whenever possible, we couple loans with technical assistance to
provide access to information and markets to advance small businesses
and their communities.
NI is currently seeking energetic qualified candidates for a Vice
President to lead its Small Business Lending operations. *The
successful candidate must have substantial business lending
experience; significant non profit/ economic development experience;
the ability to work within and manage a team; and a willingness to
collaborate with community banks and economic development
organizations.
He/she will be expected to provide leadership and strategy, and also
oversee all aspects of lending operations including asset recovery.
Excellent communication skills, management experience and a
demonstrated interest in the development of entrepreneurism and rural
communities are essential.
Qualified candidates will possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor's degree
and 5+ years of relevant experience.
