I am writing to share two job openings (CFO and Business Lending
Officer) with a credit union serving immigrants. The jobs are located
in Newark, DE.

Vice President of Finance/CFO

American Spirit Credit Union is a progressive credit union serving a
large immigrant population, located in Newark, Delaware. We are
currently seeking an experienced Vice President of Finance/CFO.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional expertise in ALM model
management, including monthly maintenance forecasting, what-if
analysis, and budgeting. The candidate will possess a minimum of 5+
years of credit union experience.
Working Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required. Will have
familiarity with credit union philosophy, work procedures, and
financial institution operations gained from work experience. A
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field. Masters in Business
Administration is preferred. Helpful experience in asset liability
management, investments, banking operations, budgeting and data
processor conversion is required.
Additionally, candidate should have outstanding verbal/written
communication skills, excellent interpersonal/team leadership skills
and have effective project management/product development skills. The

Business Lending Officer

American Spirit Credit Union is a progressive credit union located in
Newark, Delaware. We are currently seeking an assertive, results-
driven experienced Business Lending Officer with strong sales
background.

Ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills with the
ability to prospect for new commercial real estate/commercial loans.
Responsibilities include developing and retaining commercial
business, meeting with prospects, managing the relationship or
managing the loan through approval to closing. Gathers related
financial and general business information, performs financial
analyses need to make credit decisions, participates in team credit
decisions and communicates with prospects and customers to close
sales. Maintain a high rate of closing to prospect ratio. Continues
developing growing network of outside referral sources for new
business. Ensures that own work, as well as work of any employees
supervised, is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and
guidelines. Attending community events, work along with SBA in making
presentations to businesses, cold calling, networking, and increasing
awareness of the credit union in the community.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, disciplined sales
professional with a proven track record of achieving sales goals,
business lending and customer service experience. Must be flexible in
their schedule and possess excellent communication skills. Require 4
years degree or the equivalent combination of education and work
experience required. 3-5 years commercial lending experience
required, including credit analysis. Understanding of commercial
business development techniques and credit decisions. Business
development and sales ability. Development network of outside
referral sources for new business. Strong credit and financial
analysis skills. Negotiation and closing skills. Excellent
communication skills, both verbal and written. PC skills.
