March 14-18th, 2010
New Orleans, Louisiana
This conference - the premier training and networking event for CRA
officers, community development lenders and investors, CDFIs, and
nonprofits - features four tracks including CRA Compliance, Investments,
Community Development, and the National Community Development Lending
School. The conference also includes tours exploring revitalization
projects in New Orleans, volunteer opportunities, and networking
opportunities throughout the conference.
Keynote speakers:
Angela Glover Blackwell, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of
PolicyLink, a national research and action institute advancing economic
and social equity. She is a frequent commentator for some of the nation?s
top news organizations and is the co-author of the forthcoming "Uncommon
Common Ground: Race and America's Future."
Michael Barr, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial
Institutions. A former professor at the University of Michigan Law School
and former Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress and the
Brookings Institution, Assistant Secretary Barr is responsible for
developing and coordinating Treasury's policies on legislative and
regulatory issues affecting financial institutions.
Eldar Shafir, William Stewart Tod Professor of Psychology and Public
Affairs at Princeton University, whose main areas of interest include
reasoning, judgment, decision-making, and issues related to behavioral
economics. Some of his recent work has examined decision-making about
savings in low-income households and how insights from behavioral
economics can inform financial services regulation.
