Hi John,
One of the largest student-focused matched savings programs in the U.S is
Juma Ventures (http://www.jumaventures.org). ('http://www.jumaventures.org).') They offer a youth IDA
including tailored financial education classes for high-school students.
Some of their participating savers (and their stories) are on the

Hello, John:
Native American Community Development Corporation (NACDC) has a "MIni-Bank" Program that has been tested over 13 years on different reservations: Blackfeet Nation, Fort Belknap, Fort Peck and Rocky Boy's Agency in Montana, Fort Hall in Idaho and Ute Mountain Ute Tribe (Cortez District schools) in Colorado. The NACDC Mini-Bank Program uses the FDIC Money$mart curriculum and has tailored that program to meet each Native community. A PowerPoint presentation that outlines the program at Black feet is accessible at www.nacdc.org.
The Program is delivered in schools to 4th-12th grade students by local coordinators who are trained, supported and mentored by NACDC's Mini-Bank Director in Browning, MT. The IDA component of the Mini-Bank Program is in place on the Blackfeet Reservation at the Blackfeet Language School. All students at all schools within a Native community have savings accounts.
For more information please contact Steven Powell, Director of Mini-Bank Programs for NACDC via email at okii78@hotmail.com or 406 338 2292.

Hi John:
Â*
You should take a look at CFED’s website http://cfed.org/programs/abc/ ('http://cfed.org/programs/abc/') for information on our children’s savings demonstration called the SEED Initiative. SEED was a 10-year research, policy and practice initiative designed to test and implement incentivized matched savings accounts and financial education for more than 1300 children and youth across the country.Â* Most of the children saved for post-secondary education. We have experience structuring savings account products and financial education for children, and I’d be happy to speak with you directly and share more information.Â* Give me a call when you have a chance.

Hi John:

You should take a look at CFEDΓÇÖs website
http://cfed.org/programs/abc/ ('http://cfed.org/programs/abc/') for information on our childrenΓÇÖs
savings demonstration called the SEED Initiative. SEED was a 10-year
research, policy and practice initiative designed to test and implement
incentivized matched savings accounts and financial education for more
than 1300 children and youth across the country.  Most of the children
saved for post-secondary education. We have experience structuring
savings account products and financial education for children, and IΓÇÖd
be happy to speak with you directly and share more information.  Give
me a call when you have a chance.

Mission SF in San Francisco supports a credit union owned and operated
by youth. The Youth Credit Union Program offers short and long term
savings accounts for children and youth under age 18, and a new
prize-linked savings program. There is a national network of similar
youth-run programs supported by community development credit unions
coordinated by the Federation of Community Development Credit Unions in
New York.
Mission SF also supports Youth Trainers for Economic Power, a team of
high school students that adapts financial curricula and exercises to
ensure that the content is relevant and engaging to low-income urban
youth. YTEP youth deliver financial workshops to their peers, mostly
through community program settings. More information can be found at

The Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP difference
CDEs nationwide rely on Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP to evaluate and
project the community impact of projects funded with NMTC-facilitated
financing. Baker Tilly has developed two comprehensive NMTC impact
analyses products.
* Pre-development impact analysis: the community impact of a
proposed project is assessed before the project is placed in service.
CDEs have used these studies to project future impact from their
participation in a project and shape the terms of transaction to create
the most value for the community.
* Post-development impact analysis: used by CDEs to evaluate actual
community impact associated with a project after the project is placed
in service. CDEs have used the results of these studies to report the
impact of their past NMTC projects in the allocation application.

A similar program existed in my hometown of Minneapolis, MN. The program was sponsored by Farmers and Mechanics Bank. If I remember correctly, I deposited less than $1 per week. I remember it being a thrill to see the account balance grow during the course of the school year.

John,
Check out the making cents program. I believe they have a number of
curriculums for various ages. The FDIC Money Smart program also has
training catering to youth.

John,
At the Latino Community Credit Union, we offer savings and checking
accounts for youth ages 13 to 18. We also have savings accounts for
children.
Here is some info about the
accounts http://www.latinoccu.org/en/products/accounts/youth ('http://www.latinoccu.org/en/products/accounts/youth') as
well as info about an essay and photo contest we did with youth to
educate them about the culture of
savings http://www.latinoccu.org/en/contest ('http://www.latinoccu.org/en/contest')

Mission SF in San Francisco supports a credit union owned and operated
by
youth. The Youth Credit Union Program offers short and long term
savings
accounts for children and youth under age 18, and a new prize-linked
savings
program. There is a national network of similar youth-run programs
supported
by community development credit unions coordinated by the Federation

Community Development Credit Unions in New York.
Mission SF also supports Youth Trainers for Economic Power, a team of
high

that
the content is relevant and engaging to low-income urban youth. YTEP
youth
deliver financial workshops to their peers, mostly through community

I'm not from NYC, but I had one in Kentucky and here in Washington while in primary school. My son also had a passbook savings while in primary school. He is now 13. Tuesday, as School Saving Day. The account was held at Washington Mutual (now Chase). The program begins in Kindergarten and ends after 6th grade.

Most banks do not use passbooks anymore. In addition, due to liability, banks cannot make themselves responsible for monies that are not in their possession (that is to say they cannot insure deposits that are at the school and not in bank premises). However, that does not mean that a school could not set a savings program up using today's technology.

I was talking to a friend about the "student savings" messages that

At the risk of sounding like Amazon.com, I thought if you were
