Director of Program Operations, Credit Builders Alliance
Supervisor: The Director will be hired and supervised by the Executive
Director
Location: Washington, D.C.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a key leadership position in an organization of six staff. Credit
Builders Alliance is an innovative non-profit social enterprise offering
solutions for U.S. microfinance and financial education organizations that
help underbanked families and communities in the U.S. to access affordable
business and consumer credit that helps them build assets and economic
self-sufficiency.
PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION: Provide leadership and management oversight of CBA
Reporter and CBA Access programs including:
Ø hands-on supervision and mentoring of up to four CBA program associates
Ø creating workplans and leading staff to meet measurable goals for
department
Ø development of internal and external program policies and materials for
program success
OPERATIONS: Oversee and manage day-to-day organization operations including:
Ø grants management
Ø human resource development
Ø office management
Ø financial management
QUALIFICATIONS & KEY ATTRIBUTES:
The position requires someone with demonstrated expertise in the core
responsibilities listed above, as well as demonstrated success in the
following areas:
Ø Management experience, including supervision of staff, in fostering a
highly collaborative environment through strong and dynamic leadership,
including the proven ability to motivate, mentor and build consensus among
staff
Ø Strong interest in content of CBA’s work. Familiarity with the political
and economic issues that affect the lives of people living in poverty in the
United States and/or familiarity with microfinance, financial education and
credit a plus
Ø Experience managing financial statements, project budgets and/or grants
Ø A healthy curiosity about organization effectiveness
Ø Hunger to learn and excel professionally
Ø Ability to balance multiple complex and competing responsibilities while
under pressure
Ø Positive attitude, looking for the opportunity in every situation
Ø Attention to detail and deadlines
Ø Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
Ø Ability to travel (estimated 6-10 domestic trips per year)
Ø Commitment to the values and vision of Credit Builders Alliance
Compensation: Title and salary commensurate with experience plus
Medical/Flexible Spending, 403(b) matched pension plan and fringe benefits;
participation in unemployment and worker's compensation and social security,
participation in merit bonus program.
