Over the course of the last few years university student-run microenterprise organizations have emerged to offer direct services (both training and financing) to small business owners in their local communities.

An Aspen Institute FIELD program study explores the strengths and challenges of these growing organizations, as well as their potential impact on the microenterprise field in general. FIELD also recently co-sponsored a conference of these student groups at Rutgers University to discuss issues of scale, sustainability and impact. Are you are a university group working in microenterprise or looking to start a program at your university? FIELD would like to hear from you. [fieldus@aspeninst.org]
