ACCION USA is seeking a Vice President of Resource Development. As a

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising Strategy and Execution

* Leads and manages development efforts to raise an annual budget
of $5.5 million
* Designs, implements and manages all fundraising activities
including foundation requests, government initiatives, corporate giving,
individual giving, board giving, and other related solicitations
* Manages all strategies and activities for donor cultivation,
solicitation, and relations
* Develops creative ways to package the organization and its
activities to funders to meet funders' interests
* Maintains contact with and oversees the development of grant
proposals and reports for funders
* Works closely with the CEO and Program staff to assess
development needs and create and execute overall fundraising strategy
* Supports the CEO in representing needs, accomplishments, and
relationships to funders

Board of Directors Relations

* Works with the Development Committee of the Board of Directors
and the CEO to develop strategies to initiate and meet fundraising
goals.

Development Operations

* Oversees the development of systems to support fundraising
projects and operations specifically performance against goal, grant
deliverables, gift processing and acknowledgement, and data capture
* Coordinates closely with Finance Department on cash flow
projections, revenue recognition, restricted grants, and satisfaction of
restricted grants
* Coordinates research activities

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a combination of
skills, experience, and passion in the following areas:

* Five years of demonstrated leadership in development, especially
in individual donor solicitation and grant-seeking
* The ability to take initiative while remaining open to ideas of
others
* Skills in collaboration and teamwork
* The ability to be flexible and adaptable
* Entrepreneurial with a self-led attitude
* Experience in sponsorships, budgeting and financial planning
* Excellent presentation and communications (written and oral)
skills
* Experience with and acquainted with major foundations
* An understanding and commitment to social justice issues and
nonprofit development/capacity building
