NCB CAPITAL IMPACT HAS A COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR POSITION AVAILABLE IN
OUR CRYSTAL CITY, VA OFFICE.

NCB Capital Impact Communications Coordinator will have strong
organizational and communications skills, and ability to manage a
variety of projects under several Project Managers’ direction. This
person will also be responsible for assuring that all assignments are
achieved in a timely, efficient manner and that internal and external
communication flows effectively.
I. CONFERENCE & EVENT PLANNING & SUPPORT – 40%
A. Event Planning
1) Manage events, such as making arrangements/handling logistics,
negotiating rates for external spaces and hotel rooms, managing
invitations and responses, preparing documentation for events (e.g. off
sites, on site meetings, external workshops, etc.)
B. Giveaway Coordination (items for conferences and events):
1) Research, source and negotiate giveaway items that are on brand and
utilitarian (will be used/kept) / vet with all users (e.g. BDOs and
program directors).
2) Coordinate ordering including graphics, usage projections, check
requests and shipping/tracking.
3) Receive items, count/check quantity and quality, secure storage,
disburse to regional offices.
4) Organize and manage inventory controls and reorder levels to ensure
availability for all conferences and events.
C. Materials support for conferences, events and mailings:
1) Assist with creating and producing signage including posters, table
signs, etc.
2) Draft table signs including some minor graphic layout.
3) Arrange for posters to be “blown up,” and produced (mounted and
laminated as needed).
4) Ensure all materials are vetted with respective users and shipped to
site on time.
5) Arrange for check requests as needed for conference advertisements
and sponsorships that are pre- invoiced/need immediate payment.
6) Prepare and distribute mailings and other marketing materials
II. ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS & COLLABORATION - 40%
A. eNews for all Capital Impact groups (e.g. general, funder, LTSI…):
1) Assist with production schedule, coordinating story identification,
collection of info and data.
2) Assist with editing stories.
3) Collect, update, maintain all upcoming events for “On the Road”
section.
4) Upload to Ektron and MagnetMail.*
5) Distribute via MagenetMail, track metrics, and report on results.
6) Assist with identifying opportunities for constant improvement.
B. Web tools and website maintenance and development assistance:
1) Systematically review Capital Impact web pages for outdated or
incorrect information.
2) Identify opportunities to add new, useful information.
3) Assist in tracking and analyzing web analytics, and modifying content
in response.
4) Assist with research of social media usage in all sectors.
5) Serve as webinar technician (become highly proficient in webinar
tool) for webinar events.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE - 20%
Document and File Management and Support
Assisting in the preparation of quarterly board books
Updating and maintaining databases and spreadsheets
Support production of lengthy MS Word reports that incorporate charts,
graphics, bibliographies, etc.,
Support production of highly visual PPT presentations that use graphics
and photos in addition to text.
Photo library management including procuring electronic, high resolution
before and after pictures for key/headline projects, uploading to share
drive, in organized and well-labeled fashion.
Office Management
Pick-up and distribution of mail
Ordering office supplies
Shipping packages upon request
Filing and general office organization
Maintain orderly organization of production room and library spaces
College degree. Proficiency with MS Office, especially: technical
proficiency in Word sufficient to support the production of lengthy
reports that incorporate charts, graphics, bibliographies, etc., and
technical proficiency in PPT to support the production of highly visual
presentations that use lost of graphics, and photos in addition to text,
and able to create and manipulate basic excel spreadsheets. Ability to
interact with both internal clients and external partners -
interpersonal skills. Strong written and oral communication ability.
Competency with Internet navigation and research. Familiarity with
social media. Ability to master online tools for webinars, web
analytics, eNews, collaboration/wikis. Highly organized and proactive.
Writing samples will be required.
