Invitation

Exploring Financial Support Mechanisms for

Pathways to Citizenship

May 26, 2009

Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago

3:30pm – 5:00pm

As a leader with whom we have worked in the past to assist new Americans in
their progress toward the “American Dream,” of pursuing citizenship and all
of the socio-economic benefits that follow, we are inviting you to a
policy-oriented dialogue to be held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago
(230 S. La Salle Street, 11th Floor, Chicago, IL) on May 26, 2009.

Through the generosity of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, United Neighborhood
Centers of America (UNCA) and Ways to Work recently produced an intriguing
research document outlining the major milestones and associated expenses for
new Americans working toward legal permanent residency and United States
citizenship. The executive summary of the document is attached for your
review.

We would like to advance this dialogue and discovery process further. The
Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago will host the meeting to facilitate a policy
discussion, *Focus on Government and Financial Services Industry Initiatives
*among stakeholders from financial institutions, community groups,
government officials and others to explore financial support mechanisms for
those on pathways to citizenship. Event sponsors will present findings from
their research and facilitate group dialogue about the potential for the
development of financial products and tools to assist those pursuing US
citizenship.

The meeting will take place from 3:30 to 5:00pm on May 26, 2009. Please
RSVP by e-mailing Pathways@UNCA.org or calling Martha De La Rosa at (414)
359-6576.

Thank you in advance for your reply. We look forward to advancing this
dialogue with your cooperation and insight.

In the spirit of service,

Ian B. Bautista Jeffrey Faulkner

President, UNCA President, Ways to Work
