EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OPPORTUNITY SERVING NY'S NORTH COUNTRY
Seeking candidates with rural development experience; a love of long winters (close to Canadian border); a desire to return to small town living with reasonable housing costs ('08 COL of 84.1); a desire to lead a dedicated, 13-member staff with a broad array of external partners. If this fits, read on. If you know somebody, thanks for passing along.
The St. Lawrence County Housing Council (SLCHC) is Northern NY's premier not-for-profit development organization, having attracted $41million over 28 years for homeownership training/ education/ financing; housing rehabilitation; multi-family and elderly rental projects; public facilities and Main Street redevelopment for rural communities across St. Lawrence County. SLCHC was describe within an October'08 survey among funders and customers as the 'consultant of choice' in the region because the organization implements more cost-effectively than does other entities.
While engaging a range of business partners, the incoming Executive Director will bring managerial and financial leadership in project analysis, planning and implementation. Strategic emphasis will be on revenue diversification to build sustainability, navigate growth, and reward valued professional skills. The ideal leader will enjoy managing people, possess at least 5-7 years experience conducting high level business operations, and be comfortable undertaking fund-raising and grant-writing from multiple public and private sources within a not-for-profit setting. A related Master's degree is ideal; a Bachelors degree and solid experience will be strongly considered. Exceptional interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills are essential.
SLCHC offers competitive compensation to the region. Please e-mail a letter, resume, and salary requirement now to susanm@nonprofitjobs.org SLCHC is an EEO/ AA employer.
