Position Description

The Senior Loan Officer personally manages all aspects of NFF's lending
services to a diverse portfolio of nonprofits throughout the region. As an
important member of a close-working team of local and national
professionals, the Senior Loan Officer will structure, analyze, close and
monitor loans, as well as provide organizations with technical assistance
where necessary. This role requires creative structuring and resourceful
partnership development to succeed in meeting the financing needs of this
nonprofit market.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Lending Management - Help nonprofits secure loans up to $2 million
(average $400,000) for everything from small equipment and working capital
to major capital projects. Support organizations through all stages of the
lending process from originating deals to assisting with applications,
conducting financial analyses, underwriting loans, preparing documents for
loan approval, and presenting proposals to loan committees. After loans are
approved, prepare closing documents, lead closings, continue to monitor
borrower's financial and organizational health, recommend action and
restructure loans when necessary.
* Technical Assistance - Work with nonprofits to evaluate their
overall financial health, determine financing needs, verify
credit-readiness, and assess project feasibility. As needed, present
workshops on capital project planning, financing and nonprofit financial
health.
* Service Development - Contribute to the development of NFF's service
offering by identifying markets and assisting in the development of
financial products and strategies to serve the markets.
* Business Development - Cultivate relationships with banks and other
local financial intermediaries. Represent NFF in public forums, facilitate
community outreach efforts, and build referral networks.



Essential Requirements for Education and/or Experience

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; Master's
preferred in business, finance, public administration, or related field
* Bachelor's degree required, emphasis in business or finance
preferred
* At least 5 years experience as an administrative professional,
preferably in a consulting group or financial services environment



Specialized Knowledge / Beneficial Skills & Experience

* Excellent financial analysis skills, with outstanding attention to
detail and familiarity with nonprofit accounting
* Demonstrated commitment to the nonprofit community
* Exceptional written and oral communications and interpersonal skills
* Strong time-management, multi-tasking and organizational abilities
* Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as
collaborate with a close-knit group
* Flexibility, creativity, and patience, with imagination, enthusiasm
and a sense of humor
* Ability to take initiative and focus on results
* An openness to learning new skills and systems, with an
entrepreneurial work ethic
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel
and PowerPoint
* Interest and ability to travel locally year round
