The following is an interesting event on microfinance in NY. Feel free to
share with others. Everyone is welcome. It is a WAM-NY event (Women
Advancing Microfinance), co-sponsored by The SEEP Network and funded in part
by USAID.
Learning on Youth Livelihoods Programming in Formal and Informal Economies

Please join us as we discuss challenges and opportunities highlighted from
projects that serve young people entering both formal and informal working
environments in Egypt, Jordan, Bolivia and Morocco. Speakers include:
Saba Mobaslat, Senior Youth Programming Manager with Save the Children, runs
the employment program called NAJAH in Jordan. She will share key learning
around formal employment programming.
Tamer Kirolos, Deputy Country Director will share learnings from New
Beginnings, a program which works with young people, particularly girls in
rural communities to help them improve informal livelihood opportunities in
Egypt
Leila Akhmisse, Development Director for Zakoura Microcredit in Morocco,
will share learning from a youth microfinance project established to support
young people in informal semi urban economies.
Elena Reilly, Deputy Country Director in Bolivia will share experiences from
a rural youth project which culminated in youth farmers' market.
This event is co-sponsored by The SEEP Network and part of the USAID
Financial Services IGP Learning Network
