JOB POSTING: NEIGHBORHOOD TRUST FCU SEEKS NEW MANAGER
Neighborhood Trust Federal Credit Union ("Neighborhood Trust") is a
federally insured nonprofit cooperative with a unique opportunity for an
entrepreneurial leader to promote economic empowerment among low-income
families in upper Manhattan.
Located in Washington Heights, Neighborhood Trust is a full-service
financial institution, providing predominantly Latino, low-income residents
with access to credit, savings, and checking accounts, and other retail
financial services. As a community development credit union, Neighborhood
Trust works closely with a sister organization, Credit Where Credit Is Due,
to serve the banking needs of their constituents, many of whom have no
previous banking relationship. The two entities operate as an integrated
team with CWCID, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, complementing the credit union's
financial services by providing financial education and counseling services
and fundraising for the credit union's mission-related expenses and overall
growth. Today Neighborhood Trust has 5,000 members and $7 million in
assets, with a strong capital position and enormous demand for its services.
The Manager of Neighborhood Trust is expected to lead the credit union at a
critical and exciting phase of its growth, participating in the creation of
a new business plan focused on significant membership and asset growth and
product innovation.
The Manager will be accountable for all aspects of the credit union, both
its social impact and its financial sustainability. The Manager supervises
an eight-person team responsible for regulatory compliance, lending, member
services, back office operations, cash flow monitoring, internal controls,
and internal/external financial reporting. Additionally, the Manager is
accountable for creating a credit union culture which is mission- and growth
oriented and which applies a rigorous, analytic approach to understanding
and responding to our market in Upper Manhattan.
The Manager reports to the Executive Director of Neighborhood Trust and
Credit Where Credit Is Due.
The successful candidate will:

* Demonstrate long range thinking with hands-on capabilities
* Possess a solid foundation in retail financial services and
accounting/financial reporting
* Commit to serving the upper Manhattan community
* Use good judgment to analyze and solve problems

Qualifications
* Five or more years of relevant experience with solid supervisory
skills
* Strong accounting and financial analysis skills
* Commitment to community development
* Bi-lingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred
