Duties
RSF Social Finance seeks to hire a Senior Lending Manager who aspires to
apply his/her significant professional experience, creative capacity,
commercial lending expertise and deep relationship skills to support a
social mission dedicated to a more just and sustainable world.
The Senior Lending Manager is responsible for Core loan pipeline
activity from inquiry through closing in addition to loan origination,
including business development, product development and market research,
financial structuring, due diligence and recommendation of financings
for approval, oversight of the loan documentation and closing process
and ongoing client relationship management. This position reports to
the Director, Lending Program, and joins a team of four other
professionals managing RSF's $66MM lending program covering over 90
projects nationwide, from origination through to closing, with a heavy
emphasis on client relationship management and business development.
Other Duties Include:
* Managing the loan review, due diligence, structuring, approval
and coordinated closing activity for assigned loans.
* Managing the Core Lending team, and have overall responsibility
for the portfolio.
* Participation on credit decision teams as necessary.
* Assuming a Relationship Manager role and responsibility for
borrowing clients, including site visits.
* Managing needed roll-overs and loan amendments including loan
increases for existing RM clients.
* Ensuring intake compliance with policies and procedures,
including updating of Lending pipeline report.
* Coordinating with documentation department on prioritizing
closings and other documentation needs.
* Participate in business planning process and goals setting for
originations.
* Hiring and training new staff as necessary.
* Working collaboratively with documentation and servicing teams
to ensure proper information flow among departments.
* Engage in business development, including the development of new
loan clients and new investment or philanthropic clients.
The successful candidate will have:
* An undergraduate degree, preferably in Business Administration
or Finance. MBA or other relevant advanced degree is preferred.
* A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant commercial transaction
lending experience, including asset and cash flow based credit analysis
skills, financial modeling skills, familiarity with both for-profit and
non-profit borrowers, and commercial loan structuring experience,
ideally with some experience with subordinated debt and/or equity
investing.
* Strong supervisory, mentoring, organizational and planning
skills.
* Strong oral and written communication skills, including the
ability to produce credit memorandums for approval, articulate RSF's
lending philosophy and loan products, and the ability to converse by
telephone with potential and existing clients.
* A solid grasp of for-profit and non-profit accounting, basic
credit analysis, and financial modeling.
* Lending/experience with early to mid-stage social enterprise
financing is preferable. Experience with troubled loans, restructurings
and work-outs is desirable.
* Professional experience working with both for-profit and
not-for-profit organizations.
* Willingness to travel nationally for client and site visits, and
business development.
* The ability to effectively use standard business software such
as Microsoft Office; and to use the Internet for research and
information-gathering.
* Last, but far from least, we are seeking someone with a truly
