NCB Capital Impact, a non-profit, organization based in the Washington, DC
metro area, works with state and federal agencies, providers and
sponsoring organizations to coordinate multiple subsidy programs, and
develop new, cross-cutting tools, resources, policy and models that improve
quality and reduce costs. NCB Capital Impact seeks a Master level student
intern to support our Community Solutions Group, LLC, Long-Term Supports
Innovations unit. The intern will study innovative long-term care models
and prepare information that will expand consumer long-term care choices,
particularly for low-income populations. The qualified intern primary
responsibilities are as follows:
1. Staffing a National Village Network technical assistance (TA) center.
The TA center will be composed of the development and maintenance of a
Central Desk-Top website; will include coordination and scheduling of
participant conference calls, research for network members, and writing
materials for the website. 20 %
2. Conducting a national (e.g., all 50 states) web-based survey of state
officials responsible for Medicaid-financed assisted living waiver
programs. We will use a survey tool that offers “canned reporting” but
some statistical expertise will be needed. 75 %
3. Support LTSI projects for states and foundations through
administrative work and research assignments. 5%
The intern will be supervised by the Director and will work closely with a
variety of nonprofit agencies and policy and financing entities.
Qualification: Student should have a BA or BS degree, a strong grade point
average and be working towards a master’s degree preferably in public
health, health care systems, (health related-MBA); a working knowledge of
publicly-financed health care programs and long-term care as well as a
vested interest in the welfare of low-income populations. Strong research,
writing and surveying skills are required for this role. A strong working
knowledge of Microsoft Office and web based design exposure is a plus.
Salary: Paid internship. $14 an hour with a monthly transportation subsidy.
