EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Streets of Laredo Urban Mall Association is seeking qualified applicants
for the position of Executive Director for the Laredo Main Street Program.
The candidate will be an advocate for Laredo Main Street, providing
information and background on the goals and accomplishments of the program
to downtown business owners, city/county officials and staff, and other
interested persons who could benefit from the programs of the Main Street
Program. Other duties include organizing the Farmers' Market, annual street
festival and other fundraising/promotional events.
The candidate must be well versed in the following: Main Street Four-Point
approach to economic downtown revitalization, Laredo's city and county
government, Laredo Historic Preservation Guidelines, all private and public
downtown plans and initiatives, and the Laredo downtown area. Position is
directed by Board of Directors.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited US university. Five years experience in
one or more of the following areas: architecture, historic preservation,
economics, finance, public relations, design, journalism, planning, business
administration, public administration, retailing, volunteer or nonprofit
administration and/or small business development. Excellent written and
verbal skills are required; grant writing and public speaking experience is
a plus.
