POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
PRESIDENT & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
NEW JERSEY COMMUNITY CAPITAL

BACKGROUND

New Jersey Community Capital (NJCC), founded in 1987, is a certified
community development financial institution (CDFI) based in Trenton, NJ.
With $125 million in diversified assets under management, NJCC finances the
creation and preservation of housing, particularly affordable housing and
commercial real estate and provides capital for the development and
operations of early care and education centers, schools, health clinics,
human and social service programs, cultural and arts institutions and other
community services throughout New Jersey. In light of its strong financial
and technical assistance programs, NJCC was the 2003 recipient of the CDFI
Excellence Award for Community Impact for demonstrating its efforts have
made a difference in the communities it seeks to serve.

The Board of Directors is seeking a new CEO to serve as the organization's
staff leader and public face. Primary responsibilities include developing
and implementing broad strategic plans and annual work plans in consultation
with the Board, developing strong and effective relationships with NJCC's
investors, both current and new, to secure both the capital resources and
the operating support necessary to meet NJCC's goals and objectives,
marketing the organization and its services to state and local governments
and to other networks of potential borrowers throughout New Jersey, and
managing the organization's budget and staff of 12.

REQUIREMENTS

NJCC is seeking candidates with 10+ years of professional real estate
finance and/or development experience, preferably with non-profit
organization(s); 10+ years of senior level management experience, ideally
including some experience with a CDFI; demonstrated entrepreneurial
aptitude; proven track record of raising private, public and foundation
capital and operating support; demonstrated ability to form partnerships
with private sector financiers, public officials and various development
entities; demonstrated record of successful financial management, including
profit and loss responsibilities; outstanding skills in oral and written
communication; demonstrated strong strategic planning and financial
analytical skills; graduate degree in business, real estate development or
other related field; clear commitment to assisting challenged communities;
widely recognized leadership and personnel management skills.
