National Economic Opportunity Fund
The National Economic Opportunity Fund (NEOF) is a private, social venture
capital initiative that assists communities in the US in building public
private partnerships that fund and incubate small business development. Our
business model uses proprietary platform businesses to leverage job creation
and entrepreneurial development. Our mission is to help women; minority and
service disabled veterans drive economic development in partnership with

In the fall of 2007, NEOF will be expanding into Northeastern US markets,
and we are seeking a CFO/CIB with finance experience to help establish a New
York office while expanding the Company's capital base and mission-related
investing.
The CFO/CIB will help direct and manage an integrated structure of
investment vehicles, franchise and capacity-building activities, and a
growing number of related investments. The CFO/CIB is responsible for one
or more geographic areas or program initiatives, with a strong emphasis on
1) capital formation; 2) due diligence on joint ventures and 3) continual
research and learning with grantees and foundations. The CFO/CIB also
represents the Company in philanthropic and nonprofit fields of interest and
is encouraged to serve in leadership roles in these fields.
Applicants should understand that this position represents an opportunity to
participate in the early stages of a growing company, and should be ready to
take a leadership role in the continuing evolution of the NEOF business
model.
The Company prioritizes market-rate investments made to Veterans/Service
Disabled Veterans who partner with community development corporations in the
Company's national network The Company is committed to maintaining a

The anticipated starting date is winter 2007.
Qualifications:
. Commitment to the mission and values of the Company (see our website)
. Minimum of three years of financial management experience related to
equity investments and/or social venture capital
. Experience analyzing financial statements, organizational budgets, and
industry trends, experience performing financial analysis to determine
investment feasibility
. Basic understanding of underwriting and credit analysis
. Ability to build relationships with community development financial
institutions, potential PRI loan markets, Wall Street firms and private- and
public-sector investors
. Experience building relationships and fostering alliances among diverse
people to accomplish goals
. Keen analytical skills, ability to learn and synthesize new information
quickly
. Ability to use instinct and intuition effectively in building
relationships and making decisions
. Respect for the dignity and abilities of a wide variety of people
. Experience with and trust in collegial decision making, coupled with
ability to work independently, flexibly and with good humor.
. Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines; ability to pay
attention to accuracy and detail while thinking broadly
. Excellent written and oral communications skills
. Initial Commitment to the Eastern United States
. Willingness to travel (30-40%)
