The National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) has an immediate job opening for a research analyst!* NCRC’s research department is expanding with lots of exciting projects in the immediate future!
*
NCRC, the nation’s economic justice trade association based in Washington, D.C, has over 600 community organization members dedicated to increasing access to loans, investments, and banking services for minority and low- and moderate-income communities.* NCRC seeks to strengthen the nation’s fair lending laws and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), federal legislation requiring banks to meet the credit needs of low- and moderate-income neighborhoods.* NCRC also seeks to create partnerships among neighborhood non-profit organizations and lending institutions that develop affordable loan products for underserved communities.* NCRC works to support the efforts of its member organizations through training, research, and direct services.* NCRC serves as the voice for our members before federal, bank regulators, elected officials, and national media.

The Research Analyst must be committed to issues of economic justice, be skilled in data analysis, and possess good writing skills.*
* Responsibilities Include:
*
<!>·******* <![endif]>[i]Analyzing data on lending activity.* The analyst must have the skills to use data analysis software and to develop and manage databases and spreadsheets.* Generic skill in using database programs is more important than specific knowledge of HMDA and CRA data on home and small business data.* Applicant must be proficient at analyzing significant quantities of data and enjoy quantitative analysis.

<!>·******* <![endif]>[i]Contributing to research reports, articles, and policy papers.* The analyst will be asked to write research reports, articles, and will contribute to policy papers.* Solid writing skills necessary.* Other duties as assigned including working on proposals for funding and working on tasks related to NCRC’s annual conference.

Qualifications and Experience
*
<![if !supportLists]>·******* <![endif]>Computer skills.* Solid background in quantitative analysis and the capacity to use computer databases.** Proficiency with Excel.* Familiarity with other databases such as ARC GIS, SAS, SPSS, or Access a plus.

<![if !supportLists]>·******* <![endif]>Academic background and practical experience in one or more of the following areas: economics, statistics, urban planning, political science, sociology, community organizations and neighborhood issues.

<![if !supportLists]>·******* <![endif]>Ability to work and interact with diverse organizations and individuals.

<![if !supportLists]>·******* <![endif]>A Bachelor’s degree is required.
