POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES This position will report to the Financial Intermediary Channel Vice President within Fannie Mae’s Community Lending Financial Intermediary Channel (formerly Community Channel) group. Position will be responsible for executing the new business platform for the Financial Intermediary Channel, working with the Channel Leadership Team to produce reports on implementation of the business plan, including volume projections, Profit and Loss reports, measurements of profitability on a Portfolio, Product and Customer Segmentation basis, reports on “pull through” business to other Community Lending teams; Resource allocation, and Operational Controls implementation, measurements and testing.* This position will provide the information needed to allow Channel and Community Lending Management to effectively plan, execute and measure results as part of the Division's Business and Operational goals. Position will be responsible for meeting the business goals of the Channel which relate specifically to becoming the partner of choice in providing debt and liquidity for Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) housing lenders and act independently in managing assigned customer relationships, providing comprehensive account management coverage. Position will be a leader in developing financing and/or process-related solutions for this new group of customers, including intermediary debt purchases and targeted housing funds.**************************
ESSENTIAL DUTIES On-going Financial Intermediary Channel business planning for nationwide operations of the channel. This will include input and feedback from Channel management as well as Community Lending Senior Management. The incumbent will be part of the decision-making process related to Channel goals and objectives. Key tasks will include on-going analysis and production of metrics related to Channel structure, Key Performance Indicators, loan production, profitability and risk measures, and resource allocation. Production and management of Financial Intermediary Channel Profit and Loss Account, as part of the development of the Community Lending P&L. This will be required as one of the channel and Community Lending management controls and will feed into the overall group P&L and profitability measures and goals. The P&L will be used in conjunction with the Business Plan to guide and evaluate channel and Group performance. This will require interface with Management at all levels. Lead effort to develop new intermediary debt products consistent with the intermediary business plan — particularly the intermediary debt purchases and targeted housing funds.* For secondary market (debt purchase) product, manage team developing the analysis of potential options and feasibility to recommend specific pilot by end of 2007. Create strategic sales plans to capture new business and customers, while maximizing production from existing customers. Be expected to conduct a thoughtful review and presentation of new lending opportunities that are in line with the credit policies and business standards/guidelines established and the larger production goals of the group. REQUIREMENTS
5-7 years of community development housing lending experience with significant experience focused on strategic planning, processes for executing business platform processes and procedures. Experience in a Community Lending environment is preferred. 3-5 years Originations and Underwriting experience related to a wide variety of products, including residential Real Estate development. Bachelor's degree in business, finance, real estate or related field. Thorough understanding of the community development housing lending industry. Proven experience in successful development and implementation of business plans for business units. This would include responsibility for a business unit performance, P&L, and measurement of unit performance against established goals. Working knowledge of Fannie Mae policies and procedures preferred. Demonstrated strong quantitative, conceptual and analytical skills utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
