Description: GodoCap's ~$30M Social Enterprise Expansion Fund is seeking to
fill the risk-taking capital gap for both nonprofit and for profit social
enterprises, while providing investors with a blend of financial and social
returns. Since inception in June 2006, Good Capital has identified a number
of compelling social enterprises that we are considering for investment.
Starting summer 2007, our San Francisco office will build out its due
diligence and transactional team as the first fund begins to close on
commitments. The position of Director, Portfolio and Finance will work
closely with the Principals, Portfolio Officer, Investment Committee,
Advisors and MBA interns; to screen, do market research, conduct due
diligence, structure financial transactions and manage the ongoing
monitoring and engagement of portfolio enterprises. We are seeking a
self-starter who is passionate about the social capital market and who can
thrive in a flat, entrepreneurial start-up environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Be or become a leading practitioner in the social enterprise
capital market
Line management of the investment activities of Good Capital
Identify and screen new portfolio candidates
Provide due diligence management on prospective investments
Primary and secondary market research
Innovate in the development of social impact analysis and monitoring
Company valuation (DCF, comparables, etc.) and financial statement analysis
Deal structuring and term sheet development
Conduct merchant banking activities around our lead investments
Manage resources for non-financial engagement with portfolio
throughout fund life cycle
Travel will be required up to 20% time
QUALIFICATIONS
MBA or appropriate advanced degree
5+ year background in private equity and venture capital portfolio
management
Experience working in transactions from origination through due diligence
and closing
Superior financial skills including company valuation modeling
Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
Background in investment banking, corporate finance, law and/or
nonprofit/social enterprise finance and accounting a plus
Self-starter who will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
WORKING LOCATION
San Francisco, CA, Mission District (BART accessible, parking), with >20%
travel
