Program Associate, Community Development Venture Capital Alliance
The Community Development Venture Capital Alliance (CDVCA) is the
association of community development venture capital (CDVC) funds. CDVC
funds make venture capital equity investments in rapidly growing
businesses located in underinvested areas, seeking double bottom line
financial and social returns. With $1 billion under management and more
than 80 funds active or in formation, the CDVC industry has grown
substantially since CDVCA's founding in 1993. CDVCA advocates for the
industry in Washington, performs industry research, provides training
and networking opportunities, helps develop standards and best
practices, provides consulting services, and manages a fund that makes
investments in CDVC funds and direct equity investments in businesses.
Responsibilities:
The Program Associate will work with other staff in various program
areas, including:
* helping to plan and implement CDVCA's conferences, workshops, peer
meetings and other events;
* helping to advance CDVCA's advocacy agenda with regard to both
legislative and regulatory issues;
* assisting with collecting and disseminating data on the community
development venture capital industry;
* assisting with investment due diligence and consulting projects;
* writing the CDVCA newsletter and other publications;
* drafting grant proposals and reports;
* providing administrative support to the president;
* maintaining central filing and computer systems; and
* processing publication orders and membership applications, and
responding to general inquiries.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have excellent written communication and
organizational skills and a strong interest in the field of community
development finance. Financial skills and legislative and advocacy
experience are a plus. Candidates with BA, MBA, JD, or similar master's
degrees will be considered.
Salary commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits.
