Tax Law Expert on Business Tax Incentives
Aspen Systems Corporation (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Information Technology) is seeking quotes from tax law experts able to provide technical assistance on the $11 billion tax incentive package available to an estimated 300,000 Renewal Community (RC) and Empowerment Zone (EZ) businesses across the United States. The technical assistance also covers the New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs) that are available to RC/EZ communities and IRS publication 4492, which addresses provisions of the Katrina Emergency Tax Relief Act of 2005 and the Gulf Opportunity Zone Act of 2005.
Expertise should include: 1) the ability to interpret and apply tax codes (particularly new and changed codes as a result of new legislation) to training and marketing materials, and conduct sessions on the tax incentives at national workshops attended by tax professionals and preparers and the business community; 2) experience working with federal agencies on tax issues and the ability to effectively participate in meetings as a nationally respected tax incentive authority; 3) hands-on experience in federal and state programs that include tax incentive benefits. Task assignments might include:
1) Reviewing and updating Government-sponsored materials on tax incentives related to economic development.
2) Serving as Chair and participating in a panel discussion web cast videoconference on tax incentives available to Gulf Opportunity Zones.
3) Helping to complete the development of a "webinar" training curriculum covering the four categories of tax incentives that make up the $11 billion tax incentive package for RC/EZ businesses.
The place of performance would be Washington, D.C. If interested, please send a capabilities/qualifications statement and an hourly rate for services to:
