2006 Community Revitalization Awards
Call for Submission

The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco proud to announce the 2006 Community Revitalization Awards competition.

This awards competition is an effort to recognize and share innovative outstanding examples of comprehensive revitalization projects that have had a significant impact in the community. The projects should demonstrate a unique connection to their location and reflect a holistic approach in the development process. Submissions can be for a program, service, structure or any combination of these elements that have made a measurable contribution to a community’s quality of life.

The projects will be reviewed by a panel of community development professionals and evaluated on the following five criteria:
· * * * *Community Involvement
· * * * *Use of Partnerships
· * * * *Financing
· * * * *Responsiveness
· * * * *Impact

Each submission should describe in 500 words or less how the project: Assessed the needs and incorporated the views of the community Developed or promoted collaboration among organizations that serve the community (e.g., nonprofits, government entities, intermediaries, and financial institutions) Leveraged public and private sources of financing Responded to a specific community or economic development challenge Improved the community
Submissions can be made by either a financial institution or a nonprofit community-based organization such as a CDFI or CDC in cooperation with a financial institution. Multiple submissions from the same organization for different projects are acceptable. All submissions will be featured in a special publication that will be distributed at the conference and available on the website the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Winners will receive:
· * * * *Three free registrations to the 2006 National Community Reinvestment Conference to be held March 19 – 22, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nevada
· * * * *Recognition at a special awards luncheon during the 2006 Conference
