Announcement:
This is about DEVJOBS which is a new international mailing list for
announcing jobs related to microfinance, poverty alleviation and
development work. DEVJOBS is a recent addition to the international
resources in the Internet. To those who are in development work, this
would be interesting and useful indeed.
The DEVJOBS list is a new public announcement list for jobs. It is a new
resource that can help to link both employers and employees. It charges no
fees to both employers and applicants.
BENEFITS TO EMPLOYERS:
Employers may post ads anytime (but they should join first the list as a
member; see joining instructions below). The main benefit to employers is
that they get free advertising in the Internet of their needs for workers.
Usually,
employers pay thousands of dollars to post job announcements in
newspapers. DEVJOBS is a free service. By posting job advertisements at
DEVJOBS, an employer is able to reach a wider audience of people operating
in the development world. And it cost nothing.
DEVJOBS is now accepting job ads from various microfinance organizations
and other development-oriented employers. Employers may post their job ads
by sending email to <devjobs@onelist.com> The conditions are:
1. The job is an international position - meaning people from various
countries may apply and compete for it.
2. The job must be connected with microfinance, poverty alleviation,
community development work, healthcare, agriculture and natural resource
management. Job ads not meeting this criteria are not permitted.
3. The job ad should be short (not more than 3 pages)
4. The ad should contain the email address of the person supposed to receive
the applications, and the deadline for accepting applications. Also, an
email address of a person who can be contacted if prospective applicants
want to get more info about the job.
BENEFITS TO JOB-SEEKERS:
For job-seekers, the benefits are obvious. It is a free source of valuable
information. To job-seekers who are are interested in inquiring about a
certain posted position or in applying for it, please write directly to the
person
indicated in the job ad. Please do not just press the "reply button"
because it will be posted to the whole DEVJOBS. If you want to
send your resume as file attachment, please send it directly to the
employer which posted the ad, and not to DEVJOBS. DEVJOBS will not accept
any resume or any file attachment. The OneList computer will automatically
discard any file attachment. Job-seekers are not allowed to post their
resume in DEVJOBS. Please follow these basic rules strictly.
HOW TO JOIN THE LIST:
DEVJOBS is a free service. If you want to join the DEVJOBS list, just send a
blank email to <devjobs-subscribe@onelist.com> and your email address will be
automatically included in the mailing list. As a member, you will get the
job ads in your inbox as employers post them in.
HOW TO LEAVE THE LIST:
Any subscriber may leave the DEVJOBS mailing list anytime, by sending a
blank email to <devjobs-unsubscribe@onelist.com>
The DEVJOBS list membership is open, email attachments are
not permitted, and replies go to the author of the message. It uses the
free computer facilities of OneList which will soon merge with eGroups.com.
DEVJOBS is our common resource in the Internet. Let us use it wisely.
Thanks for using DEVJOBS.
