Announcement:
This is about DEVJOBS which is a new international mailing list for
announcing jobs related to microfinance, poverty alleviation and
development work. DEVJOBS is a recent addition to the international
resources in the Internet. To those who are in development work, this
would be interesting and useful indeed. Sorry for cross-posting. - Carlos

********************
The DEVJOBS list is a new public announcement list for jobs. It is a new
resource that can help to link both employers and employees. It charges no
fees to both employers and applicants.
DEVJOBS is now accepting job ads from various microfinance organizations
and development-oriented employers. The conditions are:
1. The job must be connected with microfinance, poverty alleviation or
community development work. Jobs not meeting this criteria are not
permitted.
2. The job ad should be short (not more than 3 pages)
3. The ad should contain the email address of the person supposed to receive
the applications, and the deadline for accepting applications. Also, an
email address of a person who can be contacted if prospective applicants
want to get more info about the job.
Employers are free to post ads anytime. The main benefit to employers is
that they get free advertising in the Internet of their needs (usually,
employers pay thousands of dollars to post job announcements in
newspapers). By posting job advertisements at DEVJOBS, an employer is
able to reach a wider audience of people operating in the development
world. And it cost nothing.
For job-seekers, the benefits are obvious.
To job-seekers who are are interested in inquiring about a certain posted
position or in applying for it, please write directly to the person
indicated in the job ad. Please do not just press the "reply button"
because it will be posted to the whole DEVJOBS and it would be embarassing
to have thousands of people seeing your application letter. If you want to
send your resume as file attachment, please send it directly to the
employer which posted the ad, and not to DEVJOBS. DEVJOBS will not accept
any resume or any file attachment. The OneList computer will automatically
discard any file attachment. Please follow this instruction strictly.
If you want other people to subscribe to DEVJOBS, just ask them to send a
blank
email to <devjobs-subscribe@onelist.com> and their address will be
automatically included in the mailing list.
Any subscriber may leave the list anytime, by sending a blank email to
<devjobs-unsubscribe@onelist.com>
The DEVJOBS list is unmoderated, membership is open, email attachments are
not permitted, and replies go to the author of the message. It uses the
free computer facilities of OneList which will soon merge with eGroups.com.
DEVJOBS is our common resource in the Internet. Let us use it wisely.
Thanks for using DEVJOBS.
