Investment Director - SUMMA Fund
The SUMMA Fund is a not-for-profit $4.2 million investment fund that
is currently managed under the Commercial Market Strategies (CMS)
Project. It provides innovative financing alternatives in the health
sector in developing countries through revolving loan funds, direct
loans to NGOs and direct loans to commercial companies. We are
currently looking for an Investment Director for the SUMMA Fund.
The CMS Project is a USAID-funded project aimed at building
sustainable commercial markets for high quality family planning and
reproductive health products and services and working to expand the
financial resources available for market-building in health.
Responsibilities: The Investments Director shall have primary
responsibility for all program activities related to the SUMMA Fund.
Key responsibilities include marketing and representing the Fund;
identifying, preparing and implementing new investments, managing
existing investments, conducting research and managing a 3 person
investment team.
Qualifications:
At least 10 years experience in development finance, managing an
investment fund or banking
At least 5 years of international experience, in a developing country
context
Proven credit and lending skills, including doing due diligence,
evaluating, approving and monitoring loans
Proven ability to identify, negotiate and close deals
Willingness to travel
Previous management experience
Interest in doing social lending, previous USAID experience and
knowledge of the health sector preferred
