As CEO of Directo, I am seeking ideas to reach and serve "unbanked" consumers, financial institutions may not want to serve or may want to serve in a different manner. In short, we have been fairly successful in certain markets, offering an FDIC "checkless" checking account with an associated debit card.

Our thinking is that financial institutions could offer this outsourced solution at the teller window and retail desk (check cashing and new accounts) and therefore reduce lobby traffic on paydays, and the 1st and 3rd of the month. Consumers would utilize your ATM to access their funds.

I am looking to understand the viability of this approach.

What key 'drivers' make sense for the financial institution?
- Convenience?
- Consumer value?
- Ease of implementation?
- Fee income?
- Improved productivity with staff?

Best regards,
Directo
