I am collecting information regarding technical assistance as it pertains
to the success of small business development. In particular, what types of
T.A. is provided by your lending institution and for what type of borrower
has it been most successful. Any information or leads on sources regarding
this topic would be appreciated. I am interested in rural as well as urban
programs. My E-mail address: macarver@diana.du.edu.

I tried to send you an e-mail to the address listed but it was an error?
so I'm replying this way.

I work for a small business development center and micro lending
organization called Enterprise Development Corporation in Athens, Ohio.
We provide TA, counseling and financial assitance to low-income
entrepreneurs in a 30 county area inSoutheastern Appalachian Ohio. Part
of the loan agreement is a requirement to attend one of our classes and/or
recieve counseling through one of our SBDC couselors or a loan officer.

There are a couple of conferences coming up that you may want to check
out. One is the Community Lending Institue in Washington DC on March 5-8.
There are seminars on underwriting microloans, credit unions, improving
collections, etc. Another is the Association for Enterprise Opportunity
Annual meeting and conference on May 17-20 in Columbus Ohio. This also
offers many trainings and sessions on the subject of microleding and
small business development.

I'm not sure
what specifics you are looking for, but you can write to me and ask.
