This is in response to an inquiry from a couple weeks ago looking
innovation in rural areas between banks and other sectors.
You might try contacting David Harris of the Land Loss Prevention Project,
HN1080@handsnet.org or 919/682-5969, PO Box 179 Durham, NC 27702.
Apparently the LLPP worked with First Citizens Bank (?) to direct $5M in
loans for small farmers in North Carolina. I believe the bank received CRA
credit for their efforts. David (who is extremely busy) can fill you in on
the successes and tribulations of the program.
