Opening in Housing and Local Economic Development Research
The Center for Urban Policy Research at Rutgers University
has been awarded a contract for up to four-years and $4
million by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development. Under this agreement, CUPR (with a team of
researchers from around the country) is to carry out research
on a variety of subjects of interest to HUD. These include:
homelessness, affordable housing, public housing (including
housing management functions), the role of community-based
organizations in supplying housing, open housing, housing
mobility, community empowerment, community and local economic
development, housing finance, and bringing excellence to
HUD's management.
CUPR is looking for an experienced scholar to engage in
research in housing, economic development, and other topics
listed above. That person should have a Ph. D. in a relevant
field and/or significant experience in the housing and
economic development fields.
This person will be Project Director and will be expected to
play a high-level role in managing and carrying out some of
this research. This person will work closely with the CUPR's
Director, other CUPR researchers, and members of CUPR's
decentralized team and have significant responsibility for
providing HUD with completed research.
Starting date: as soon as possible. Minorities and women are

Salary is commensurate with experience. Candidates should
